You get one pound, 16 oz. (approximately 14 to 16 dry cups), of lavender buds. Blue/Grey lavender buds are perfect for making sachets, for jar potpourri, sleep pillows, and bath herbs. This lavender has been grown specifically for the fragrance and should not be used in cooking. Lavender buds are about size of rice. Very clean. Our lavender buds are imported from Provence, France.

A one-pound bag of our lavender buds will fill approximately 40 to 50 3" x 4" organza bags or 20 4" x 6" organza or muslin bags.

Our buds are very fragrant and have a 2-year shelf life when kept in a cool, dry, dark (out of the sun) place in a sealed container or bag. If the fragrance fades give the buds a squeeze to release the oil inside. It will give them a renewed scent.

Make your own aromatherapy pillows using either just flax seed or flax seed and lavender. You will need at least approximately 6 times as much flax seed as you do lavender buds to make the fill mixture. Example: 6-1/2 lbs. of flax seed + 1 lb. of lavender buds will make 21 eye pillows that measure 4" x 9" in size. Flax seeds will retain heat when microwaved in a aromatherapy pillow.
